Painting is in my soul what music is in my senses.
Born in 1952 in Nevers, after scientific studies and career, and supplementary trainings in humanist subjects, enthralled by colours and forms since childhood, I start my artistic course by singing and painting for my pleasure following lessons and participating in workshops. My first pictorial expressions are figurative, then in 2003 I discover “inventive mandalas” or “centered drawings” which open me to more "unprompted “ creativity.
For several years I improved in the approach of abstract painting which is meant to be lyric and unprompted using the way of body and gesture.
By meeting the painter colourist Muriel Cayet I discover peculiar and innovative techniques as the aquagraphie, use of mineral powders, collages, I use since broadly in my paintings.
I usually create my paintings in a kind of emotional urgency where color, gesture carry and lead me to this unknown that emerges from my unconscious … Exposed, laid bare, up to dare the glance: mine and the other’s on this moment, "the here and now" put on the canvas ...
I play with many different materials : acrylics and oils, minerals, pigments, collage, gold leaf, pastel, and I change according to my mood size and holder.
I find inspiration in my look at nature and in mysteries of life, and I often work listening to music.
My works carry everyone away in the world of dream and imagination.
"Flashing!
Thus we could, initially, at first glance, on the first second, describe a painting by Christine Jean-Guyader.
But "flashing" is not enough to describe her work.
Certainly the color explodes under the brush, under the knife; but the main thing, when we linger, when we approach, is the pulsing of an incredible strength that we feel clearly. She knows how to fit textures together, play with matter which glitter, which pulse, how to link materials that make up the painting. Painting of quest, of search, of sharing, generously offered to our glance.
Flashing, sensitive, full of life, her painting is also joyful and deep. It follows the painter’s emotions beat, but most the emotions beat of the one who look at, the spectator, he who has a place in this story.
How to describe this painting ? Abstraction ? Perhaps, but not only, not totally. It seems have distanced itself from representation to suggest the main, the first emotion, the one which does not describe what we feel, the one which does not look like something familiar but in which we can all find ourselves. We recognize here a dream, there a landscape, over there a thought ... And we'll walk around happily!
Flashing, pulsing, alive, strong and deep ... The painting by Christine is the whole.
And also human; heartful and generous. It likes to be shared !
It takes us with it, carries us away, leads us to all our inner travels, become accessible and always warm.
A painting of life, of life that pulse on the canvas, of life that is seen ... "Muriel Cayet, Artist, colorist, Member of the European Academy of Arts-France, wrote.
In short, I would describe myself as an abstract colorist spontaneous and lyric artist.
I also work on commission, depending on your interior decoration and home’s harmony.
Some of my paintings photographs have also been used to illustrate books around Fenshui and well-being.
I am listed at Drouot.
I live in Charentilly near Tours in France. |
