My love of animals both wild and domesticated inspires my work, and increasingly forms the bulk of my subject matter. I am especially passionate about dog portraiture, in large part thanks to spending many a weekend sketching and painting my own dog Jonesy. Happily, recent commissions have allowed me to further focus on this aspect of my work. My feedback confirms that I am able to capture not just the likeness, but the character of an individual animal, and as an animal lover it is this which most pleases and encourages me.
