| I am contemporary artist living and working in Leicestershire.
Having had a passion for oil painting since undertaking my degree I have a large collecion of contemporary artworks inspired by the accidental beauty of decay. As a consequence of visits to various European cities, I developed an interest in the ambiance characterised by strong architectural features, quality of light and patina created through weathering and natural wear and tear. Creatively interpreting this became the focus of my work. My interest in the organic and architectural form of the fossil reinforces my interest in erosion and decay, with its subsequent incidental beauty. Although this subject matter perhaps seems very different from my focus on architectural surfaces, there are significant parallels such as the decay, complicated structural qualities, patina, symmetry, and texture.
