Having completed a Foundation Degree in Fine Art, and a CETTLS and PETTLS course qualifying me to teach adults on recreational courses, I felt it was about time I started to create some of my own work.
This work pictured here is a result of my recent experiments with felting. I love the feel of the wool and the results achievable seem limitless. I wanted to steer away from the usual uses for felt and create my own path, using it as a medium for more pictorial work.
As my work is inspired and based in the stunning landscape around me where I live in North Devon this work reflects the things I see every day.
I will be adding more work soon once I have done further experiments wiyh felt, taking it to another level! This work is deliberately not behind glass as it is wonderfully tactile work and deserves to be touched. As it is felted using a wet process it is more robust than it looks and can be patted to remove dust if necessary. If you wanted to have it framed yourself that would be possible, but I have not done so as I feel the reflection of the glass would detract from the picture and the added weight would increase posting costs.
