| I have been an artist and photographer for over 50 years. As a teenager, I was influenced by my father's brilliant watercolour work until, as a 20 year old, I spent 3 years studying Graphic Design and Photography at Liverpool School of Art. Over the next 10 years or so, my creative development was largely shaped by photography working for national newspapers, agencies and publishers. However, my work as an artist had already started but leaned heavily towards realism. This was probably the result of working with thousands of photographic images! I've moved on and some of my paintings are now perceived as examples of expressionism, impressionism and realism. They rely on heavy oil paint with glazes over an acrylic base.
Over the past 15 years or so, I have been re-motivated time and time again by the endless possibilities within creative digital art or 'PhotoArt as I prefer to call it. Much of my art, conveying passion, human emotions and feelings is now sold as limited edition prints and are available here in my galleries.
I've exhibited in Italy, The UK and France and for the last 4 years before returning to the UK, owned and managed 'Studio Hirondelle', an art gallery near Aubeterre sur Dronne in the Charente. I also offered framing services and workshops for photographers and artists in the South West of France.
I'm now living and working in Longhope in the Forest of Dean Gloucestershire where people can see original works of art, as well as take advantage of creative workshops or bespoke framing services
