This painting I finally got round to doing sprung from completing a series of paintings which are now in Stoneham Massachusetts. I like her unusual pixie like qualities and her quirky poses in the photos sent for my perusal. In this painting the girl is confronted by the raven, keeper of the key to knowledge and now looks confused as to use the key or give it back. There is of course no golden key or indeed a raven but there comes a time in life when something within our own soul holds out both hands and offers us the choice of to give or receive, to take that uncharted path or stay on the path you know. This is what makes us who we are, for right or for wrong. I depicted the background as some photographers control the depth of field as slightly out of focus to emphasize the main subject.
Ready to hang, painted on quality canvas board mounted on mitred frame finished in white, protected in quality artists soft sheen varnish to avoid the glare of indoor lighting. |
