Autumn Impressions

Original and unusual acrylic painting on two box canvases (diptych), each measuring 50cm x 50cm, making a total size of 100cm x 50cm. Framing not required; all edges painted.
The real artists here are the leaves, which have left their delicate imprint marks on the canvas surface after being painted in various shades of pale gold through to deep brown. The imprints have been made one on top of the other, to create a feel of quietly-drifting leaves. Paler colours have been layered successively with darker ones, leaving the deepest coloured ones till last, giving the impression of lying on top.
Some parts are hand-painted for variety of marks, and for the addition of touches of gold metallic paint. The whole is overlaid with a coat of golden yellow transparent acrylic. The final image resembles a large, delicate watercolour and is quite different from the usual thick-textured acrylic works normally expected.
The canvases can be hung together to make a large work, or they could be displayed separately.

Original acrylic painting on box canvas. 20 x 8 inches and approx 1.5 inches depth (50cm x 20cm x 3.5cm). Framing not required, since the landscape subject is continued around the edges. This is a small, impressionistic style painting, using evening light in the countryside as the main theme. There are many occasions when the land seems to glow with a soft gold during early evening, and in this scene it is pervading the hills and cropfields. On the field edges, small clumps of poppies and wild flowers are gathered, emphasised gently with thicker paint.
The sky has been painted with several glazes of gold-yellow and transparent red, giving a delicate veiled effect. Price includes delivery and packing. (UK)
